Hong Kong Collection by O.P.I

OPI has came out with a collection of 12 NEW colors for their Hong Kong Collection for Spring/Summer of 2010..!!! I love the colors from this collection, they are Very Colorful, Bright and Bold. There are three shimmery colors ( "Bling Dynasty", "Pearl of Wisdom" and "Meet Me on the Starry Ferry").

Some GREAT colors for this Summer if your into bright colors i think are "Hot & Spicy", "A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find" (even thought they do look a bit similar "A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find" is a lot BRIGHTER).

However,  I do think "Red My Fortune Cookie" looks a lot like "Off With Her Red" (Alice in Wonderland Collection).

My personal FAVS are:

-"Dim Sum Plum" (Dim Sum Plum is a cool pink/plum color. I LOVE Purple..! This one is the only color close to my liking. This is a color that pretty much always looks great..!!!)

-"Jade is the New Black" (Jade is the New Black is a Dartmouth Green, i was going to compare it to Forest Green but found it too dark, So, I Wikipedia shades of green and found Dartmouth Green was closest. I'm not really a green person, but this color caught my eye. From what i read this is one of the Popular Colors.!)

-"Meet Me on the Starry Ferry" (Meet Me on the Starry Ferry is a violet rose color. It's a more girly color than I'm used to. It is perfect for Springtime.!!!).

-"Suzi says Feng Shui" (Suzi Says Feng Shui is a sky blue color. I love it , these kind of blues are always beautiful).

Heres the Sun in HD.

On March 30, 2010 NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory took different photos of the sun. The different colors coming off the sun are the different temperature ranges of the gases. Reds are cool, around 107,540 degrees Fahrenheit, blues and greens are much hotter about 1.8 million degrees!!!(Damn, that's HOT..!) The pictures are taken by a 3-ton satellite, which was thrown into the Earth's orbit 3 months ago, it shows our nearest star up close and in fine detail.

Richard Fisher, director of the Heliophysics Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington says "These initial images show a dynamic sun that I had never seen in more than 40 years of solar research, SDO will change our understanding of the sun and its processes, which affect our lives and society. This mission will have a huge impact on science, similar to the impact of the Hubble Space Telescope on modern astrophysics.”

Here is a video of The Sun's eruptions.

It is said by NASA that SDO will determine how the sun's magnetic field is generated, structured and converted into violent solar events such as turbulent solar wind, solar flares and coronal mass ejections. These immense clouds of material, when directed toward Earth, can cause large magnetic storms in our planet’s magnetosphere and upper atmosphere.

Cynthia Vincent shoes are hard to find in Target !?!

The Cynthia Vincent for Target shoe collection launch was said to be a disaster. Unless you got the pair you wanted. The problem was that even though Target had set the launch date nationwide for this past Sunday many stores didn't respect it.

The line arrived in some stores a week or two earlier, which was great for people who had caught it. Other people went to stores on Sunday and found nothing. Online, some sandals sold out within a few hours.

People were pissed that certain styles they had seen in fashion magazines and blogs never made it to Target stores. The brown gladiator wedges existed only in photos. From what i seen at Target the printed wedge and the strappy ring flat sandal were the only ones available.(Online, you can see if a store near you has them.)

Racked reports that some Target employees weren't even familiar with the collection, some were confused or misinformed.

The LA Times fashion blog: "If Target is going to continue it's strategy of whipping shoppers into a frenzy every few weeks over a new designer collaboration, it's  going to have to deliver."

The blog also reports that a spokesperson for Target said it would be re-stocked in mid-May.

For me, Target has finally created the best collaboration of designers!( Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Kashuk, Mossimo, etc.)

There have been some problems recently. Let's see how Target handles its launch of Zac Posen's collection, which is due to hit stores on April 25.

Cynthia Vincent for Target

Fashion designer Cynthia Vincent has made a line of sandals, heels and wedges that have FINALLY arrived to a Target store near you. 13 pairs within Cynthia Vincent's collection will take you on a style safari. As you'll see, bold and bright colors, peeks of patterns and sophisticated metal work. Five of the 13 styles will be exclusively available at Target.com.

Military Influences

1. Military Jacket

Pricegrabber.com
A military-look jacket with a cut for a feminine body, this Mossimo jacket has an peplum waist for definition and comes in neutral-friendly olive. I'd wear this jacket with jeans or mix with other neutrals like black or khaki.

2. Camo Skirt

Gap
I really like the faded print look of this simple straight camo skirt from Gap. It sits below the waist, hits above the knee so it will work on lots of body types. Go for a masculine-feminine look by pairing it with a soft voile blouse or just a simple tee for the weekend.

3. Military Bag

Zappos.com
Are you as tired of "It" bags as I am? It's really time to make your accessories stand at attention with Oakley's khaki waxed canvas bag with wide leather straps (and it's under $60.)

4. Olive Shirtdress

Nordstrom.com
All of the crispness of the military, plus the softness of a belted shirtdrress: Tory Burch's version of the military trend is this olive green stretch poplin dress which is perfect to take you all the way through next fall. I really like how the signature gold buttons pop on this dress; also, it's nice to see a dress that hits around the knee instead of being super short (more realistic for most of us girls.)

5. Utility Pant

Pricegrabber.com
Newport News' washed cargo pants feature loads of pockets and a soft, relaxed fit. These are the pants you'll want to pair with everything from cardigans to tanks. 3 colors and a wide variety of sizes (missy, petite, tall and plus.)

Zappos.com
Add a pop of this great deep red to your military khakis and olives with this wool-blend cap from Juicy Couture.

7. Camp Shirt

Gap.com
With utilitarian touches like patch pockets and sleeve tabs to roll up the long sleeves, this Gap camp shirt has all the makings of a great men's shirt. But what I appreciate is that it's been cut for a woman, with a fitted silhouette that gives it a great masculine-feminine vibe.

DENIM 2010

Dyed jeans are still in, this spring they come in skinny, straight, torn, short and long. Another reminder of the 90s' fashion are custom jeans in grunge style which look as if they have been worn for several seasons. Boyfriend jeans are still popular too.!! Skinny black jeans are a hit of the coming season, as well as cuts, leggings and gray jeans.!!
If you have long legs and narrow hips, ballet flats and skimmers are great for pairing with skinny jeans.Tall, wider boots with lower heels are the easiest to pull off because they will actually make your denim-coated legs look thinner, but ankle boots and heeled boots can work well too.
Booties with skinny jeans can be hit or miss, but generally speaking, they're a good choice.
Wearing high heels with skinny jeans helps to elongate the legs, so it's natural that shorter women, and those with a few curves, would be attracted to the combination. But wearing skinny jeans with stilettos also creates a very narrow "base," which of course means the middle of your body is going to look bigger

 1. Insight Beanpole Skinny Stretch Ripped Jean, $97
2. Fox Boyfriend Destroyed Jean, $64
3. Element Stevie Jean
4. Roxy Till Dawn Till Denim, $90
5.O’Neill Vacation Denim, $68
6.PacSun Future Favorites 2020 Extreme Skinny Light Bleach Splatter Studs Jeans, $49.50

Denim shorts are of  interest during hot summer days. They are comfortable and practical.
Torn shorts and shorts with cuts are also in. The best accessories are massive colliers and bracelets, belt-bracelets and massive sunglasses as well as aviator sunglasses.
Sandals with ankle straps are just plain sexy, and they're an ideal match for short shorts.
Since they show so much leg, short shorts can handle a more substantial heel, and wedge sandals are a great choice.
If you want to spare your feet and back the pain of high heels, then you should love short shorts, as they're perfect for pairing with ballet flats.
When pairing short shorts with flat sandals, you nearly can't go wrong. The only thing to watch out for is flat sandals that have lots of really wide straps or really thick, sporty soles.
Canvas sneakers are far too casual for dressier shorts, but they're a super-cute partner for casual styles.

Floral Prints are IN..!

(Skirt: Liberty of London)

(Shirt: DKNY)

I LOVE floral print, it's a fun, flirty, feminine print that is versatile and a perfect look for the warmer months, Depending on the print, florals can be sophisticated and upscale enough for work or a cocktail party, or casual and laid back for a weekend outing.

  • Posy placement: "Dresses are best for floral prints because wearing a dress creates the most impact head to toe," Joanne Stoner says. "They can be also paired with solid jackets to break up the print or to provide an alternative to a head-to-toe print."
  • Sun salutation: "A bright floral pattern on a sundress is a bold statement piece that can be worn at work or out on the town," Sonya Consentini says. "A printed floral tunic is a perfect pairing with designer denim or casual capris. Liberty prints are delicate on dresses and airy blouses."
  • A shrinking violet? "For those who don't want to wear a floral print but still want to nod to the trend, try a cardigan with rosette details, a pair of shoes with a rosette at the toe, or a handbag with rosette detailing," says Sonya Consentini.
  • Colorful bouquets: "This season, citrus colors are hot," says Joanne Stoner. "Juicy oranges, zesty lemons and luscious lime shades brighten everyone's day."
  • Best buds for your body: "Women should consider their body shape when choosing a floral," Joanne Stoner says. "Petite women may get lost or look swamped in a bold print. Larger women can probably carry a bolder print and may want to pair it with a jacket to break it up. Pear shaped figures and women who are top heavy should consider smaller prints because larger may create the allusion of more weight in the hips or the bust, respectively."
  • How to pair your petals: "If one is wearing a bold floral print sundress keep everything else simple: pair it with a pair of neutral wedges or flats and a handbag with little detail," Sonya Cosentini says. "With a bold blouse, pair with a solid cardigan, jeans and a colorful pair of shoes or handbag. Try a bright skirt with a solid blouse and gladiator heels. For a more delicate Liberty print, pair with a ruffled cardigan and gladiator sandals."
  • Dare to blossom? "It's fun to play with scale," Colleen Sherin says. "This season we're all about mixing prints, so we do love stripes worn with florals. If you're not that brave, try a solid color, but maybe a pop color that might pick up on one of the florals in the print."
